These are in Mandarin Chinese (traditional characters and Bopomofo/Zhuyin, the Taiwanese system). There are control cards, picture-only cards, and word-only cards. For the words, the characters and Bopomofo/Zhuyin are shown which is great for learning to read either one or both.

What are the Montessori 3-Part Cards (also called Nomenclature Cards)?

The 3-part cards are traditionally used in Montessori classrooms and homeschooling. The so-called 3 parts refer to: 1. The control card/the whole card with picture and the word 2. The picture-only card 3. The word-only card The cards help identify objects, learn vocabulary, develop language skills, match, etc. It’s also fun for kids to manipulate with cards which boosts their interest in learning.
